James is a social entrepreneur focused on scalable behavior change innovations. James has built 6 companies (and 13 organizations and clubs) which have collectively operated for over 75 years. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with 3 majors and 4 minors while doing research in the Children’s Research Lab. As a recovering robot, he’s fascinated by Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and received his training with Six Seconds. He coaches and consults around behavior change.
Orin is the first person to earn a doctorate in Positive Psychology, in which he was advised by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi and Jeanne Nakamura in the the Quality of Life Research Center. His research focuses on flow, creativity, hypnosis, and mentoring, and spans both the workplace and daily life. He is the principal investigator of the Quality of Life Laboratory and consultant who helps companies maximize their human capital and become better places to work.
LJ Jolley, Spark Weekend Director
LJ is a nomadic learner and loves to get stuff done. LJ graduated from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business with a degree in International Business. She worked for the American Red Cross of Central Texas as the Volunteer and Youth Services coordinator and as an Emergency Services Volunteer. LJ then worked for as a Peace Corps volunteer for three years in Paraguay, working on small business projects and health projects. LJ recently completed a one year trip around South America which included studying Argentine Tango for two months in Buenos Aires and four months of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
training in Rio de Janeiro.
MacLain is a musician, brain hacker, adventurer, and experience pusher. MacLain graduated from the University of Rochester with a degree in Brain & Cognitive science and he continues to be a student of new fields and disciplines. He finds excitement in building things that help people learn, collaborate, and grow. MacLain recently completed his first IRONMAN 70.3 and will soon start training for a new physical challenge.
